    Prerequisite Course Grade Verification

    If your prerequisite courses are in progress or were completed at a school outside the MinnState Colleges and Universities system, please send official transcripts to admissions@ridgewater.edu.


    To ensure your application is processed, the three prerequisite courses listed below must be completed by the application deadline with a minimum grade of "C" in each course and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 across all three.

    - Survey of Chemistry


    The following prerequisite courses must be completed before starting the Nursing AS program, with a minimum grade of "C" in each course and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 across all seven courses.

    If you're currently enrolled in a course, please indicate it as "IP" (In Progress).

    This form is intended to verify your employment experience as a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) and must be completed by your supervisor, Human Resources representative, or designated facility official. It documents your full-time equivalent (FTE) work hours over the past 24 months. 

    Forms must be received by the application deadline using one of the following methods:

    • Submitted in a facility-branded sealed envelope, or
    • Emailed directly from your supervisor, Human Resources representative, or designated facility official.
    Note: Submissions from personal emails or plain envelopes will not be accepted. 

     
    Admission Ranking Criteria
    Applicants will be evaluated based on the following:
    • LPN Work Experience - The Employment Verification Form (see above) must be completed and submitted by your supervisor, Human Resources representative, or designated facility official to confirm FTE hours worked in the past 24 months. Use the rubric below to convert hours to FTE.
    • Grades -  BIOL 2100 (Anatomy) and CHEM 1010 (Survey of Chemistry)
    • Bonus Point - Applicants who completed their Practical Nursing Diploma at Ridgewater College will receive 1 additional point.

    Additional Notes

    • A minimum score of 4 is required to be considered for admission.
    • In the event of a tie:
      1. The GPA of required prerequisites will be used to determine ranking.
      2. If still tied, LPN experience will be used as the final deciding factor.

     
    Notification & Orientation Details

    All applicants will receive an email regarding their application status on Monday, February 16, 2026. Notifications will be sent to the personal email address on the student's record.
     

    Students who are accepted must attend a mandatory in-person orientation at the Hutchinson Campus on March 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
